I am new here, so I may be in the wrong place, but I am desperate. Maybe someone will help, hence many thanks for all contributions forthcoming. First things first, I live in Malta, so technical support is very far and in between, in some cases almost, silc! Suppliers, if they give you any technical support, would most probably be limited to their products only, therefore you can’t combine different products with different suppliers. This is my problem: My son’s a musician, and he wants to build a studio to play music. Sometimes, he would have up to 7 or 8 musicians rehearsing, and eventually, when he would have saved enough money, he would also wants to record some CD`s. I am very capable to do manual work, in almost any construction works that is required, but lack the technical experience. We have surfed the net for information, we found plenty! But, the more we find, the more confusing it gets. This is my request for help. Maybe someone can give me an easy way out, to build this studio, gradually, increasing its perfection as we go along, we have a basement garage. 10 feet x10 feet 60 feet. Lime stone walls, and concrete roof. The floor is concrete and tiled. My biggest problem as I see it is the roof, as I have people living above us, and I can hear their footsteps as if they were next room. We are thinking of first building a room in a room, and then later try to do bass traps and the like. I have tried to use formulas that can be found on the net, but to me, they are too difficult to understand. Has anyone had a similar garage and produced a studio out of it, not to expensive yet effectively? Any forthcoming help will be very much appreciated. Thanks

Ray,
Buy one of Alton F Everests books. He has a master handbook, and he has a couple of studio design and construction books. All are very inexpensive.
