I seem to have a problem running Cubase SX. Cakewalk works fine so I know it's not my computer. I also get the same problem with Cubase VST.

The problem is with recording. I record the first track and it seems fine, then I record the second track. When I play the two tracks, the second one is no longer sync'ed with the first track. This gets even worse the more tracks I add. They are all out of sync with one another.

This is all audio (No MIDI). I'm just using a soundblaster Live! card. anyone else have this problem or have any advice?

I had this happen before, it's your soundcard. You need something more heftier than SB Live if you want to record audio (I use a midiman delta44 and have had good luck with it). The other option is to go in via USB 2 or Firewire (both faster than standard usb), this opens the door to mixer/input hybrids from tascam (eg). SB Live is ok for playing back, just not recording.

Good luck!

Is that stricktly a problem with Cubase? I also have Cakewalk on here and it records perfectly. I wanted to switch to Cubase, but It had this problem...

It's a cubase problem, it uses it's own ASIO drivers that probably require the better quality you get from either a dedicated soundcard or usb/firewire connection.
