I am starting a webstore where I am going to be selling CD's online. It uses the Miva Merchant software. I am looking for a recomendation for getting set up with an internet merchant account. Reading the fine print of the Paymerica (insisted on by verisign's payflow Link) internet merchant account, I found I have a few questions, and since I really have no one with an objective opinion to ask, I thought i'd ask here...
Here's the specifics: They have a monthly minimum discount fee of $25 in addition to a $10 monthly statement fee. Then I also have to pay verisign the $20 a month to handle the account. So i'm paying a minimum of $55 a month to accept credit cards online. Does this sound legitimate to you? Or are these guys really getting set up to rip me off big time with that obnoxious $350 early termination fee?
I have used paypal in the past and understand what it is, because I know the first ten responses are going to be "Use Paypal". Reasons I am going outside paypal are for appearance, respectability, and ease of use.
