Hola Ed,
thanks for the answer on the "getting a more dynamic bass sound".. I got a wack of great answers that I'm anxious to experiment with.
I wanted to ask, what mic did you use on voice for Jann's new Blood Red Cherry CD.. and what kind of treatment concerning effects/compressors ect.. if any?
She sounds awesome on the lastest.. clean, upfront and the vocal tone is amazing.

I am so glad you like Jann's record. I think the world of her, and aside from everything else, we have great fun making her records. After 4 albums, not one bad moment...OK, maybe one, but that's all. We have her sing into an AT 4050, with a Fairchild compressor. We treated her fairly dry on this album.....she has such a great voice that it makes it easy to keep her forward.

I've been enjoying Jann's music for quite a while now.. and always found her album's warm, clean and upfront!! Great Work!!
Funny... I'm actually moderator on this type of forum on Jann's official web site.  I've met her quite a few times.. she's just amazing!!
I've been hearing allot about the 4050 but unfortually I don't own one or don't have access to one.. seem's I would have to make a few calls to the studio's in town.. since the best that the rental place have to offer is AKG 414 's, Rode NT2 and drawmer's 1960.. I would have loved to get a hold of a 4050 or even a KSM32 for vocals next time out.
