I read where they went back and unmixed some of the old Beatles tunes that had been bounced between four track machines for the new Yellow Submarine songtrack.

I have some old analog mutitrack tapes that were bounced to a stereo mix on another analog mutitrack. Then vocals and guitar solos were added. I never liked the mix on the bounce from the first mutitrack to the second and have always wished that I could go back and somehow unbounce and remix the whole project with the original tape and the vocals and guitar solos on the second tape. Their was no stripeing of any time code on either tape although there are some tracks that were not used. Is their a way to go back and somehow sync these two tapes so that I could remix them?

I guess you could line them up with a Pro Tools or Logic Audio system.
Analog way?No chance!
