Hey all,
Take a look at this:

It may not work, i tried eariler an their site was down. Okay, so another mic-pre... but look at the layout, look at the controls, look at the names of the controls especially the eq section...tuning, warmth, presence, breath, and absence? The same names as on the focusrite voicemaster, infact the whole product looks exactly the same as the voicemaster.
so i emailed behringer thinking perhaps they had a license from focusrite to rebadge the product...

i'm interested in the ultravoice pro channel strip which i assume is a new
product. i can't help notice however that the control names and layout are
exactly the same as the focusrite voicemaster. Is the ultravoice licensed

You can't judge a book by its cover. Most compressors have the same
controls, threshold ratio etc. and most sound somewhat different. I am sure
that you will find the quality and craftsmanship (as well as sonic quality)
quite satisfying. Unfortunately, I really don't have any information on
when this unit will ship. We are not given lead times for shipments from
Germany. Unfortunately, the only thing we can do is to continue to wait

No mention of a license, in fact to me it sounds like the behringer is a seperate product from the voicemaster.
so are they tempting another court case?
anyone have any other info?

I doubt it, I don't know what it is about music companies and trademarks but it is all too bogus. WD products recently filed and RECIEVED and trademark on the LIPSTICK tube pickup. The friggin' lipstick tube!!! the same pickup found in Silvertones, Jackson Surfcaster, Old chandlers, etc. Amazingly, the trademark reads that this pickup was first introduced in 1990. Cmon!! Is that a joke! How does that kinda shit hold up? I can think of a few more just as absurd. What gives?

sorry if itīs old news, but what was the first suit? which companies have filed aganst behringer already?
I looked at the voicemaster and the ultravoice. they are way to similar (in looks and function only) to be dismissed as unrelated products IMO.

there was a lawsuit filed a couple of years ago by mackie against behringer, someone please correct me if i'm wrong cause i don't really know the details, but i think it was to do with similarities between the mixer designs of the two companies. I don't know what the outcome of that was...
i do remember reading that behringer use the guts of a rode nt2 for the b2 condensor mic, but of course that's all above board as the mics are manufactured by rode. which is why i asked them if the ultravoice was a rebadged voicemaster.
I guess the thing is that behringer attempt to provide a low(er) cost alternative to successful products, but how legit is it to do that to the point of direct imitation of a competitor.
Perhaps they just want us to think that it's made by focusrite and badged by them...
Does anyone know of anyother gear that bears a startling resemblance to behringer products?

Got this joke from a friend once... 
At a Behringer product development meeting...
First Behringer executive: "Hey guys! I've got an idea!"
Second Behringer executive: "Oh yeah? Who's idea
was it originally?"
Behringer is kinda known for taking other
company's products and showing them as their
own. Example: Taking a Mackie Mixer circuit
board and showing it as a new Behringer
product at a trade show.
