Well in my case, this is easy, cause everything's old!!! And possibly not to the audiophile standards some are used to. But I've got an old Digitech 256XL that to my ears, still sounds good. I also have an old DBX compressor, but can't remember the model number, still works great. Any faves out there?

Ive got a couple of DSP 128s and a DSP 128 plus. I use them every day. Also my DBX 160X and more Ashley CL-50s and SC-50s than I can count. The DBX is for multiple aplications. The Ashleys cant be beat on drums.I have a TC Triple C stereo comp. that facinates me with its abillity, but I still find need for the old compressors. This winter I will be building an LA-2a as a kit.I will find out why this is the most disirable compressor. Paul.

Old, but not "vintage"? I'd have to say I'm still impressed with my six year old Ensoniq DP/4+. Killer effects. Liked it so much I purchased a DP/4 used about three months ago so I'd have two. IMO, it's in the same class as the 3000 series Eventides and the Lex PCM 70. Actually, it can do several things that those boxes can't do, and the sounds are first rate in quality.

I couldn't LIVE without my Korg A3, and if anyone knows of a source that would have and of the cards, please notify me.

Some of my faves:
Roland SVC-350 vocoder. No, it is NOT for sale. Dolby 740 Spectral Processor. Less needed now that I have cool plug-ins, but still great. Peavey SDR20/20. Don't tell anyone, it's my secret weapon.
I'm with you on the DP/4, but I always thought it was confusing as hell to program.

My Ibanez UE400 is a real piece of crap, but I still use it every time I play. Plus, I got it for nothin'.
Also, I couldn't live w/o my 1977 Morley volume pedal.

Boss SE-50 and SE-70, the vocoder patches & ring modulators are worth the price of admission by themselves. Lexicon PCM 60, Ibanez AF9 AutoFilter stomp box, Ensoniq Mirage (serial #0003 - NO, it's not for sale) - lo-fi samples & 1 track looping sequencer, what more do you need?

I love my Roland Space Echo that I got last year for seventy bucks and my Digitech digital delay . The Digitech seems pretty old. It's cool though cause all the parameters have knobs and there's a dedicated button for each effect. Neither of these were big bucks high fidelity items, but they're used more than some of the more expensive things I have.

Rocktron Intellifex.
The only thing I've encountered that does 8 discretely modulated and pan-able delays. I wish they'd build that in a pedal with hard bypass....

I have an Octave CAT synth that I use for solos sometimes. I play it through guitar pedals( distortion, phase, delay) and a KUSTOM 250 Guitar amp with spring reverb (Black Padding!).
Rob
By the way, to Chip, I've just listened to "Majestic 12" and "North Carolina". Nice..I like the sound of your guitars. Great guitar multitracking. Sounds like a guitar choir.

I love my Korg SDD-3300 Triple Digital Delay from 1986/87.
12-bit, 88KHz sampling with analog compansion and 500ms of delay for each of the three delay engines. A flexible routing and feedback system allows you to run the engines in many configurations....serial, parallel, forward and reverse Y, all with independent gain scaling and feedback paths. Each engine also features 2 LFOs. The unit has 3 analog ins and outs so it can run in triple mono, stereo, stereo + mono, etc.
It generates some of the lushest modulation effects I have ever heard...many of them far better than my “pricey” effects units. It can accurately emulate the chorus unit from the Solina String Ensemble, generate less-than-pristine ambience and early reflections, and if you want hearts-of-space modular trip-out entities from the flip-side of your neural cortex, it can do that too.

My old Ross phaser had the best sound ever. Unfortunately, someone else apparently thought so as well, and so now it's gone.
The old, original Bass Rockmans have a killer distortion setting for bass. Very Scholz-y, but it's a very unique tone.
I have an old Ibanez multi-mode analog delay. The poor man's space echo, and has a nice chorus and doubler as well.
I also have an old Digitech DSP-128 that's been hanging around for awhile. Since a couple others have mentioned digitech processors, I wonder if you'd say a little about what you use it for these days, and any favorite presets you've got.
Best, --JES
