I'll be there...
Of course, doing an SSS hang isn't quite real unless Craig attends. Hey, if nothing else, he serves as a very good central meeting point - he's tall, and everyone recognizes him...

Indeed, let's meet up!!! I suggest Saturday night, at the end of the show, we all meet at the United Entertainment Media booth (Guitar Player, Keyboard, EQ, etc.). There were a couple other SSS hangs at Winter NAMM several years ago (if I recall correctly, Dr. Bryce, you were one of the main instigators...). What we basically did was take over a particular bar for an hour or so, then everyone went their separate ways. However, more often than not, people who met during that initial hour drifted off to have dinner, drink, whatever. I usually have evening things I MUST attend so I don't get to hang around too much, except for the space between Show and Dinner.
Okay, how do we identify ourselves as SSSers? We need something available to all that we can wear. Hey! Here's an idea. Maybe some talented art person could draw an overlay the size of a NAMM badge, upload it somewhere on the site, and those who plan to attend could download the art and print it out. At 6 PM, slip it in over the badge. Maybe even write your nom de screen on it or something.
See you in Nashville, y'all.

I'd love to see you guys, but it'd have to be on Thursday. we're in Calgary right now, but will be in Nashville on Thursday only (for NAMM). Please email me at fantasticsound@hotmail.com if you wish to get together as I assume the Sat. meeting will be appropriate for most of you to hang.
I'm on an internet kiosk in the hotel, but it's the first I've had access to since my last posts, so I may not get any messages before sunday or Monday when we get home.
There is NO way you're getting to Nashville without me putting a face to that name, Alphajerk!
Later boys and girls. We're checking out and playing the Calgary Stampede tonight, then 40hrs. to West Virginia. If anyone's near Summersville or Eleanor, WV, let me know. Maybe we can hook up there.

I'll be down there, too... it would be great to actually shake hands with some of you guys. I've got a thing on Saturday night, but I will definitely do the hang before that.

Next week. Friday (7/20) through Sunday (7/22). It's at the Renaissance hotel in downtown Nashville.
Nashville's not that far and if I can possibly make it so's I can meet some of you guys, maybe I will.
That would be too cool! Hope you can work it out - if you travel all that way just to hang, then we'll HAVE to make a serious party out of it!

Summer NAMM is...NEXT WEEK! OH SHIT!
Trade shows are not the most happy time of year when you're the person putting on the exhibits. This show runs Friday 7/20 to Sunday 7/22. TASCAM will be there, so of course, so will I. C'mon by my big booth (Arena #5017) and say hi!
As to an SSS get-together...yeah, I'd love to do that. Ignoring the fact that I have 15 other commitments every day/night of the show, I'll try and stop by to see you folks on Saturday night...I'm sure y'all will end up at the Bridge Bar in the Renaissance.

Can't afford it this year. Wanted to go and at least peruse the music stores, and it's always great to raid the magazine stand. Nobody from the store I'm at is going this time... Fug.

I don't think you'll be missing too much this year. The vibe for the show seems fairly low-key, although I hear TASCAM will have something of interest to home recording people. C'mon Jeff, give us a hint!

Heh, heh... I think you'll like this. The first day out mixing monitors for the Wilkinsons (country, family act), the drummer asked me if I liked my drum sticks to whizz by my left ear, or my right ear.
I told him to plant it right between the eyes or I wouldn't notice.
(Seems he actually DID send one flying at the previous monitor guy.)
Dibs on one of those shirts! I never DID see if you explained the moniker, only that you were soliciting attempts to figure it out. I always assumed it meant you were the biggest badass around. Alpha - First or primary, as in alpha-male types. Leaders. + Jerk. King of the Badassess? C'mon... tell me if I'm right or wrong.
When are you guys arriving in town? I've since been informed of the Fri - Sun. format, and we leave on a plane for Merritt, BC on Thursday afternoon. I'd like to meet some of you before we leave, if you'll be in that early.

Anyone hanging on Thursday night? I'll be at the Renn (probably in the bar) with some PRS guys.
Alpha, it'll be good to meet a DC refugee. A drummer friend, Vinnie Santoro, is another DC transplant who lives in Nashville and will be hanging on Thurs/Fri.

Alpha, I'm in Bowie. Right between DC, Annapolis & Baltimore. NAMM should be a good hang. Keep a shirt for me. I put it with my old Stiff Records shirt.
