If I make it to NYC AES, I'd love to join you all! Please put my name on the list if there is still room. I'd be in NYC from Thurs afternoon to Sunday morning, so Friday's great.

Dan, I think it's just easier if you enter the headcount post as a new post each time.

I wish I could make it, but it doesn't look likely at this point. Ya'll will have to have fun without me. It's difficult, I know...

Sorry, Max, but I think it would be more work, more error prone, and more confusing to have multiple lists. I've been updating the original list diligently.
EVERYONE: The official LIST is the tenth (10th) post in this thread, created on 5 July by me, dansouth@yahoo.com. I try to updated it every few days with new RSVP's. Please let me know if I've missed anyone. Thanks!!

Chris, try not to embarrass us by wrecking the joint, OK bro? Some of us still have reputations to maintain.
I don't anticipate Claudio Ventura putting up with any nonsense, and he shouldn't. Let's all show some class in the face of a most generous offer.
Just to remind everyone: it's an upscale Italian restaurant. Bring your taste for fine food, fine wine, and intelligent conversation. We'll go out and get stoopid AFTER dinner, and I'll be more than happy to lead the way. But, please, let's go to Claudio's house with the utmost respect for our host.
I will not be performing there that night BTW. Just wanted to put an end to that rumour. I might be at the Tunnel with DJ Lorne, but nuthin's set yet.

Curve, thanks for your comments. Claudio's restaurant is indeed nice, but it's not so stuffy or pretentious as to make one feel uncomfortable. It's just the right mix of class and comfort. Claudio always makes you feel right at home. But please view the place as you would someone's home, someone who has extended a very special invitation to you, even though you've never met.
Claudio's place is definitely NOT a "get stupid drunk" dive. So, if you want to come for a nice dinner and a great hang, we'd love to see you. For a more after hours vibe, you might want to try the Village or the Upper West Side.

IE: getting stoopid, I'd be happy to lead an after-dinner excursion to the Zinc Bar in SoHo (nearby). It's a funky underground joint with great live music (usually).

dansouth,
I would guess 5-10 people tops would attend since several are already posted here to attend.
Do you need to think about it?

Chris, not sure I follow you. Are you saying that you expect 5-10 associates to attend in addition to the ones listed, or are you saying that most of the ones you expect are already included in the list? Max asked me to keep track of the headcount so that Claudio would have some idea as to how big (or small) this event is going to be. We should chat again as the date draws near to come up with a rough guestimate.
Thanks, Dan

dansouth,
I have asked people who post on my forum to come over to this thread and express their written interest in attending.
I project that somewhere between 5 and 10 people who have not already let it be known that they will attend will register.
I have already registered my intention to personally attend, if that is ok with you.

May I perhaps quote from that legendary TV show Soap?
The gangster says sitting down at his favorite restaurant, "This linguini is better than sex!"
I thank you...

Chris, that's cool. Check the list (tenth post from the top). You're name should be on it. As others post, I'll add them, also. Again, this doesn't have to be an exact science. I just want our host to know how many folks to plan for.
By the way, South is my last name, so you can save yourself some keystrokes and just call me Dan.
