what do you guys think of this unit? what would you use it for? and how does it compair to other stuff along the same lines?

get the 3D Pre CD and check it out - one of my least favorite pres on that CD.

I liked the GML, the Cranesong, the Earthworks, Aphex 100, DBX786 the best overall and there were a few others that were good for either guitar or vocal. that was my first listen - i need to do it again and make a score card.

The GML sounded like a benchmark pre to me - as near to perfect as I could imagine.
