I'm looking for a good vocal processor or guitar processor that can be used on vocals, preferably with a footswitch. I've seen a few reviews of the Zoom 1204 and the Peavey vocal 100 (which looks like what I need) but haven't been able to demo either. I am mainly looking to run some delays, chorus, compression, the normal stuff. Also I am interested in running some distortion- maybe with an A/B switch to prevent feedback. Any recommendations?

Hi Seth,

I'm using the TC Electronic G-Force with very good results. Both for vocals and (mainly) for guitar. The quality of the effects is outstanding and the good thing is that all effects blocks are available simultaneously. The distortion sucks if you want it to sound like good tube distortion. It can work if you want to make whacky sounds.

Just my 2 cents.

DigiTech makes some good vocal-oriented processors, and I've always liked their chorus sound. You might want to check out their vocal harmony processors, as they not only include harmony generation (which really is quite cool!) but generally include chorus and delay. Although there's no distortion, you could always add something like a SansAmp for when you're doing guitar. This approach would be good if you're more interested in vocal processing but also want to do guitar.

One of the better kept secrets is Peavey's SDR-2020. It's a great vocal processor but also has a TON of distortion and EQ options. It's based on the ProFex/TubeFex series, but has more options and sounds great since they went to 20-bit converters in the 2020+.
