Hi everyone,

Have finally had a chance to sit down and type some stuff.

What can I say about the song? The best way I can put it, is that it reflects perfectly the intentions of everyone that contributed: good (even great), motivated, inspired and rocking!

Thanking people is the hardest part because everyone put in so much. From where I sat (with laptop grafted to my legs) over the past week, the standouts have been the hours and hours and hours of work put in by (in no particular order): Sharmin, Phait, Chris, Wraub, Fil, Bunny, Phil, FoxTick, Songrytr, Ted, and the everyone that submitted tracks.

It's less than 12 hours since the song went live on the website, and we've already raised hundreds of dollars, and if we all get the message out that will grow big time. Add to that the motivation to do more songs and you've got one hell of a project that is going to make a big difference to a LOT of people.

I can't thank you all enough!

Dave / nursers

Ditto Dave

I totally have to agree that many hours were spent in front of the screen trying to sort out details so it was all just so and I am feeling it now.
I think the song is the icing on the cake and I will be the first to admit that when I heard the result, I sat there in tears for 10 whole minutes and it was worth every tear.
I can't thank you all enough for making this a joyous way to contribute to something that is so worth while and all makes up for a better world and an example that people, no matter what they beleive or where they come from, can still work together for the good of the many and not just the few. (was that Spock that said that? and its logical to!)
Well done to all and I am always going to be grateful for being involved and as Dave said, we are making hundreds of dollars towards a well worth while cause.

Thank you guys and lets do it all again on the next collaboration song.

Sharmin

Now what?

I'm planning on spamming some good friends and local radio and TV stations. You never know when someone might pick this up as a "local or special interest" stories. AND if we are REAL lucky a local interest story might get picked up by a national network.

The more people that hear about this song, the more money it will bring in for the people who need it.

In fact, maybe we could swing a plug from the MP people in some of the upcoming issues.
Too bad we don't know anyone at those publications.

I would like to thank everyone involved as well. The final is from song to site is awesome! I'm very excited and pleased to have been able to contribute in my own small way something to this unique effort.
I have sent out copies of Paul's note to everyone on my email list as well as posting links to FoF on my various sites. May all of this good effort on everyone's part bring some relief to those in need.

Cheers!

I think it was Jean Paul Sartre, but I might be wrong because I was quite pissed at the time.

I'll give a hearty "amen" to that! Excellent work Tedster. Two thumbs up.

I talked to Silent Bob about it, and he gave it two thumbs up too. \:D

Well, that certainly would explain the dental gap and the rinestone glasses, as well as one or two other things.

Nursers, Shars, is there any way to get updated on how much we've earned for the cause thus far?

The mock-up test site had a ticker to show the dollar amount raised. Is that possible to implement? Or is there another way of being updated?

Thanks!

The reason that isn't there is because there is no we we can track DEC payments, PayPal would be easy enough... but I was misled as to our affiliation with the DEC - I thought we'd be hand-in-hand, and this isn't quite the case.

Also we might have to drop PayPal altogether I was advised, because gov. is cracking down on hoax fundraisers using PP.

I forgot to mention, because I've gotten so wrapped up in everything, and I thanked them in private, but, I've gotta say thanks again to the California crew...Phil, Bunny, Fox, and Song...for taking number one and turning out such a cool tune! Losing sleep, driving hundreds of miles, making some tough choices, all that stuff.

You all are the best!

Hey mate - as per the new thread Shars has created the amount raised is close to $500 US, which isn't too bad for first 36 hours and given that doesn't include what is raised via the DEC payment option (my gut feel is that at least as much again has gine that way from web site hits etc). I may have some media interest down here which would be good, and the more we keep promoting the cause the better

Ok, so I sent out press releases to all four Local TV stations and a few radio personalities in the Philly area. Maybe someone will give us a plaug or a link.

Hey Phil, you're going to have to answer to my wife. I told her the tune I was cutting parts for the other night was done, but my stuff didn't make it in. She said "Who's decision was that? " I said "Phil O'Keefe"

I explained that it didn't really matter, the project was for a good cause and somebody had to make the decisions, but she still wants a piece of your hide.

I say you can blame Bunny, I don't want her to mess with Foxtick.

Hey all. I have yet to check them out more, but these groups are in the business of vetting charities, ensuring that the charities are on the level. Perhaps we should contact them (or at least look into them), see if they can smooth the way for us through the sea of scammers.

http://www.charity-watch.org

http://www.charity-navigator.org

I am unable to fully look into them, as I am preparing for a gig.
Might be worth a shot...

Thanks all!

Peace,

wraub
