Ok, I have the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi sound card and MIDI interface. I have Sonar 5 Producer Edition and a Korg Triton hooked up directly to my PC.

Here is the question:
What are my MIDI input and output channels from the following list?

SB X-Fi MIDI port (A800)
SB X-Fi Synth A (A800)
SB X-Fi Synth B (A800)
Microsoft MIDI Mapper

The only option I am given for input is SB X-Fi MIDI port (A800) but for the output I am allowed to choose any of those four choices. Obviously the input and ouput cannot be the same so that rules out the first choice.

Sorry if this is confusing. I tried to explain as best I could. This is killing me and I could not find anywhere in the manual what the port names are designated as. Thanks for any help.

I would think if you wanted to connect via MIDI, you'd use the MIDI port on the card, which I would assume is

SB X-Fi MIDI port (A800)

What happens when you try this?

Problem solved. It was the Sonar "template I was using. The instruction video I bought said to use a normal template but I needed to choose virtual synth template. Now I am getting sound on the PC from the Korg but the patches do not match up. I do not have any drum kits.
