Heya everyone. Im pretty new with MIDI. I got a question for you guys. Im preparing for a big jam and have my MicroKorg connected to two Proteus synths with my Korg acting as the controller. Everything outputs sound correctly if I line out from whatever device im using but I wondering is there a way to produce the sound of whatever synth im using through the controller alone? May be kind of hard to understand but lemmie give an example.

I want this sound from the proteus to run through into the Korg so that when I hit the keys on the korg, whatever sound i chose will be sent out into the amp the korg is connected to instead of having to switch connections to the proteus when that sound comes out.

Sorry it may be confusing but MIDI seems to be just that anyways. Thanks for whatever help you can give.

It sounds like you've got the 'midi thing' covered properly. As long as you're able to fire up the Proteus units, don't worry about midi for purposes of this discussion. It's not a part of the audio path; just a control system.
Normally, for internal stereo sounds the Korg would feed L/R audio out to 2 channels of your mixer using 2 cables, or a single cable for mono use to 1 mixer channel. That's the basic setup. I took a cursory look at the MicroKorg, and it has AudioIn jack, which allow audio signals to come back into the MicroKorg for processing, then through to the MicroKorg's aforementioned audio outs. This AudioIn connection should accept the analog signal outputs from the Proteus units. To get L & R outputs of both Proteus units returning back to the MicroKorg, you'll need a small, 4 channel mixer, or only 2 channels if mono is OK. The output of the mixer would then feed the AudioIn jack.

Have fun, Paul
