Your best bet for replies is to re-post at Ethan Winer's Accoustic Forum, accessed from the MP main page. They LIVE for this type of question, and the 'Tech' forum has very little traffic. For what it's worth, sound travels from room to room via contact points like wall studs(vibration), and insulation has little to do with stopping it. Same for keeping outside noise from getting in. Inside the room, sound response is 'shaped' by proper wall footprinting(no parallel walls), floating panels, and by 'trapping' nasty frequencies. Again, shoot over to Ethan's site.
