I just bought two Alesis m1 active moniors as well as a KRK rp10s sub-woofer. I have never mixed with a sub at all untill recently and was hooked, so I figured I would get in the game, as my bottom ends were comming out so much better. I have my sound card running outs to my sub and from the sub I have my stereo monitors running, but I have not been able to use the setup due to the fact that it seems as though the sub's signal path to my monitors seems to lower the volume on my highs and mids to the point that It sounds like "all sub". I'm not sure how exactly to set these up, I have followed the instructions for placement and hookup to the T, but to no avail for getting anything usefull out of my system. I'm thinking I may have to run the sub and my monitors on their own seperate outputs from my soundcard or use the tape outs from my mixer for the sub and the mains for my monitors. Any suggestions as to what I could be missing? I have been at this for an hour and have had no luck. Any help would be greatly apreciated!
