Hi there

ive got an Audio buddy preamp which has phantom power. If i need to record 2 mics-a SM57 and a condenser-CAD gxl2400 at the same time, ill need to switch on the phantom power since the condenser needs tht.
Id like to know whether the phantom power will spoil the SM 57?

thx a ton

Taj

Go ahead with the phantom - the 57 can take it like it "ain't no thang". Don't worry too much about mics and the ability to handle phantom (though if it is a high end mic you may want to check with the manufacturer just in case). The place to be careful is when you are taking balanced input into the mic pre on your board from things like CD players or Bass Amps with their own built in XLR output although most moden gear can handle it without trouble.
