I've been a long time subscriber to Gig and have enjoyed it very much, but recently there has been a significant change. It seems like I'm paying for not much more than advertisements. I doubt if I'll re-subscribe.

A lot can be explained by the fact that Bill Evans, former editor has moved on to FOH magazine: http://www.plsn.com/foh/index.shtml

I don't know if the parting was mutual, but I do know that the publishers were imposing a major change.

I agree.....I did not renew mine either and the last few months I checked it out on the news stand - diminishing REAL content - I haven't even purchased one. I've kept all my old editions and it just seems like a down hill slide.

Same here. Greatest magazine ever for performing musicians . . . I recommended it to everyone and it was mandatory reading for everyone in the band. Then they went and screwed it up. It's not even the same magazine now. Maybe somebody can round up the old editorial crew and start another mag called "Real Gig."
