Gig Mag has been my favorite mag for along time. I've never missed an issue, and I read them about 5 times before I start the next.

But has anyone else noticed the drastic change since they got a new editor. I mean, with a new editor you're bound to see some changes. But what's the point of calling it by the same name if you're going to change the mag?

I loved all the cases by cases stuff where they'd show working musicians working their butts off to make it. Now they focus more on established artists and they're "stuggles" on making it. If I wanted to read about established artists I could pick up one of the other thousand mags sportin' that sort of thing. I want the dirt on working bands.

Anyway... I know it sounds like I'm whining... and that's because I am. I like my mag. Don't dick with it.

If you have received the latest issue(?) all 40 pages of what is now a printed infomercial, you can't help notice that they have gutted the magazine of all of the good stuff. I have all of my past issues- many years worth. I was just looking for an old article the other day, realized that the magazine was 120 pages! I feel that I have been ripped off, paid for one thing, get retreads from other mags. Also, I can't find old articles on line, I needed a phone number from an old article in a big way.

Jordan,

I agree. I get a lot more benfit from reading success stories. I'm able to pull out the useful info that I can apply to my music career.

I advertise in Gig Mag, and have commented on several different occaisions to some of thier advertising representitives about the diminishing content.

Best,
