I recently learned that the U.S. Copyright Office has not been accepting mail, such as intellectual property registrations, since October. You can read about this at this link

I would like to propose that we all write our congressional reps and try to get them to push the Copyright Office towards setting up capability to register intellectual works via the internet. Here are links for contact info:

Let's not argue about whether this should happen but rather let's accept this needs to happen as soon as possible.

Why not read it from the horse's mouth? The delays are due to the Anthrax scares.

For all the stuff that's stuck in limbo, you'll get a reg. date that's within 7 days from the postmark (unless the date of the postmark is illegible).
If you absolutely can't wait, use a commercial carrier like FedEx or UPS. That stuff should get through to the LOC without problems.
No need to worry.
