If you're an aspiring musician and/or producer who has a day job at a music web site, I'd be interested in getting some ideas from you (or from anybody else with insight on this topic). Specifically, how you "leverage" some of your inside knowledge to help you achieve your own musical goals, without jeopardising your daytime position or doing anything out of line. I'm a musician slaving for a music web site and need advice on tactful "leveraging." For example, I deal with a lot of indie labels at work, and the singer I produce and play bass for outside of work wants to get signed by an indie label. Thank you.

I think just finding out what those guys are looking for and then doing it would be enough to get their attention. Just make sure they're aware that you're doing it.
