I'm curious as to others approaches for finding a way to practice drumset quiently. I live in a condo and recently purchased a cheap Yamaha DTXpress II kit, but it's giving me wrist pain where playing my acoustic set I never get wrist pain (see my other post).

Anyway, I got the electronic set only because I needed a way to practice quietly. I was thinking about upgrading to a mesh kit to protect my wrists, but I was wondering if there are other, better ways to set up a (relatively) quiet practice set. Has anyone had success with muffle pads or other set ups?

I don't need 90% of what my electronic set can do, and I don't want to have to drop the cash on a nice Roland set if there is a way I can set up my acoustic drums and still practice quietly. Any ideas???

Check out PINTECH. It costs much less than Roland. Many times I will practice on it with no module at all !!

I have a set of these-

and they work pretty good except for the kick pad. You could just as easy rig something up with some old clothes that are laying around the house.
