Does anybody have any suggested methods for tracking 808 kicks from a Drum Machine. Did some tracking last night and to me the kick sounds flabby (no attack and punch). I ran the kick thru a HHB FATMAN RADIUS 3 hitting zero , and THRU APOGEE ROSETTA hitting -10 and I am getting such a flabby sound. Help

I was having the same trouble, I couldn't get a tight low 808 kick sound. What I found that helped was, I imported my kick track to sound forge then i went into the paragraphic eq and cut out alot of 30 hz and below. it seemed when i got rid of alot of that energy below 30hz, it significantly tightened up the sound of the kick. if you dont have sound forge, any full parametric eq should do the trick. give it a try, let me know how it works.
