From a very recent news article (on the possible looming demise of boy bands)...

____________

Lou Pearlman, who helped create or managed a number of boy bands -- including the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC -- for his Transcontinental Entertainment firm, told "News Site" that looks will only take a group so far. It's the music that really matters.

"If the music is solid and good, people will listen to that music as they grow up and get older," he said. The "boys" in the boy bands are truly talented, he added, even if the marketing helps. "God gives them the gift to sing. What we do is help cultivate it."

_____________

Thank God. For a second I thought they'd forgotten the music.

So does anyone have any idea who in the music industry Lou Perlman is related to?

Lou Pearlman is a disgusting, obese, walrus-like behemoth......i know cuz i've seen him in that ABC's 'Making the Band' show. He is truly hideous. Now here is my question......the muthafucker is a multi-millionaire.....he has a mansion, a yacht, nice cars and all this money......so why doesnt he pay for some liposuction?

Very funny quick article from the front page of The Onion :

The Backstreet Boys Or 'N Sync Release New Album

NEW YORK-- Pop, the hotly anticipated new album from either The Backstreet Boys or 'N Sync, hit record stores Tuesday. "I'm pretty sure this is Backstreet Boys, because that's the band where The Tough One has the goatee and the beads in his hair but no blond streaks, right?" said David Blitz, manager of the Times Square Virgin Megastore where the band made a special in-store appearance Monday before thousands of screaming fans. "Whichever band this is, though, they're definitely poised to take back their crown from the other band." The new album is said to reflect either The Backstreet Boys or 'N Sync's maturing sound, with several darker tracks exploring the perils of fame.
