Hi im new to the forum (and new to writing music), so hello to everyone! I'd appreciate some feedback on some bits and bobs ive come up with, so if you have 5 mins spare why not give a listen ;\)

This is a little folk instrumental thing ive been working on... ive changed key from D to E since recording this but you get the idea...
http://www.amxconsultancy.co.uk/lee/sm58-folkthing-dry.mp3

This is a bluesy thing ive been working on.. Recorded thru a PC mic so the quality is a bit naff
http://www.amxconsultancy.co.uk/lee/blank.mp3
Lyrics:

40lb weight, hanging over my head
Girl of the world, rubbin down my back
More shit gone wrong, than there ever once was
I'd turn to your god, but my faiths done gone lost

So brother! Where did you go?
Said brother, I need to know!
..that same damn place my father gone

Just up leave you, swimmin in the breeze
Aint filled my hole, no pain been eased
What can you tell me?, hey whatchu got?
Turn to our god. But my faiths done gone lost

So brother! Where did you go?
Said brother, I needs to know!
..same damn place my father gone..

This is a kind of slow ballad type thing, ive not recorded the music for it yet but the lyrics are:
(Intro)
(Verse1)
All this stuff runnin through my head
Dont know why, i cant tell when
S'not the same but nothings changed
After all this time, the leaves gone dead?
..
5 years good an 1 gone bad
5-in-1's the best we coulda had
Few years more is all i ask
How much longer d'ya think it'll last

(Chorus)
Things dont need to be like this
All I yurn is one more kiss
Things dont need to be like that
All that time we could still have

(Verse2)
All this stuff runnin through my head
Nights been gone, a tear got shed
First night apart, the time went on
Things look tough, lets sort whats wrong
..
5 yrs good and 1 gone bad
5-in-1's the best we coulda had
Few more yrs is worth a try
Im so sorry for making you cry

(Chorus)
Things dont need to be like this
All I yurn is just another kiss
Things dont need to be like that
All that time we could still have

(Bridge)
Dont come easy, if at all
Plenty of people took that fall
All the little demons in my hand
Tellin me to bring it, to an end
Theres a little angel in my heart
Tells me not to take it, quite that far

(Verse3)
All this stuff runnin through my head
Dont know why, i cant tell when
I dont think i can let this rest
After all this time, it must be said
..
5 years good an 1 gone bad
5-in-1's the best we coulda had
Time aint up, not at all
Not for the distance i did fall

(Chorus)
Things dont need to be like this
Come here girl give your boy a kiss
Things dont need to be like that
Think i really love you thats a fact

(Verse4)
Had this stuff runnin through my head
Feel much better now that was said
Keepin you here in my life
Maybe one day, you'll be my wife
..
5 years good an 1 gone bad
5-in-1's the best we coulda had
..
..

(Extro)

Ive just started on this, its pretty much in its infancy. Its going to have keyboards over it as well. Ive also got an acoustic only version of it that im working on that is played faster and alot more interestingly.
It was recorded at 1 am (about an hour after i started coming up with it) with the mic just propped on the sofa so its a bit quiet.

I have the full version recorded, but ill have to upload that when i get home.

I would really appreciate some feedback, good or bad.

Thanks again guys \:\)

I got a bit carried away with the reverb on that one, and there are quit a few fudges throughout ;\)

That would be fantastic thanks Ric.. They arent much, but any feedback other than somebody shrugging at me sayin "its allright" would be great! When I ask people they normally tread extremely careully... and im like "look! just tell me what you really think"... Im never gonna get anywhere without decent feedback.

I appreciate you giving me some of your time \:\)

Thanks

I was having a jam with a friend the other day and he played a 3 chord progression he didnt know what to do with... anyway after a little mess around tonight I jazzed it up a bit. I think it would make a nice intro to a song...

Ive named it Greenside for now \:\)

http://www.heavenlysecrets.co.uk/dump/Greenside-Intro-Take1.mp3

I really like this for some reason... but im not sure where I could take it so i'd appreciate some ideas if anybody has any.

Thanks

Lee
