Does it seem to anyone else that the
music "media", VH1 in particular, is confusing the term "Diva" with "Prima Donna"?

Or is it just me?

How about the term "artist" as opposed to "performer"?
An artist creates. These so-called divas are nothing more than highly-trained performers. The equivalent of a solo guitar-wanker. Technically flawless, unmatchable skills, spitting out notes without any consideration as to what they are trying to convey.

I saw Celine Dion perform "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC a few nights ago and was absolutley revolted.

Celine does AC/DC? Whew! Trying not to imagine THAT, Foot. Celine has one hell of a voice, I'll admit. But THAT song? Cripes!

Now you know how I felt when Joe Cocker did "You Are So Beautiful"!

My point is, however, that the first time I heard the term "Diva", it was in referrence to Maria Callas. Now, they use it for Britney Spears!

It's a friggin' CRIME!
