I think of "love" songs as being romantic...gooey type stuff. How about your three favorite "Git down ta bidness" type love songs?

I'll say Sade..."No Ordinary Love" is at near the top of the list for me.

Sexual Healing-Marvin Gaye
Fade into You - Mazzy Star
Watching You Without Me - Kate Bush

No logic, just thought of these as being very intimate songs...

Well... "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC of course. \:\)

There's also a blues song from the 20's, "Baby Please Warm My Wiener". Pure genius. \:D

LOL!

Prince is a modern master of the git down ta bidness

My faves would be:

Prince's Soft and Wet
The Time's The Stick
Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing

Honorable mentions: Strokin' - Clarence Carter, anything off of 2 Live Crew's first album and any female blues singer prior to 1970! \:D

How about Slayer's "Reign In Blood?"
Wocka wocka.
Just kidding.
Anything by Al Green works.
Sade, too.
Barry White is a natural. DUH.
Old Hall & Oates ain't bad for this, either.

Ah, hell, anything will do.

This'll be an odd addition to the list. But it's kind of a "guilty pleasure"

"Omens of Love" by Gino Vanelli off of "Gist of the Gemini"

I'm trying to limit myself to 3 here, Ted, but there's lots more that, IMO, are just as good as these.

Gino DID write some wonderful stuff. And had the voice to go with it! Saw him live in the '70's, and it blew me away. Brother Joe's keyboard work was underrated in the genre.

By the way, as far as love songs go, my wife claims that anything sung by Luther Vandross and Teddy Pendegrast works for her! On my way to Harmony House right now!!

First of all, I nominate Bootsy Collins as the master-booty-tunesmith/bedroom philosopher---examples can be found on all his recordings but, especially, check out "ExCon of Love", "Vanish In Our Sleep" & "The Answer Is Very Yes".
I also must say:

Okay, "Everybody get together & agree that GV wrote some great songs, right now, right now,RIGHT NOW!!"(Lest my intention be mistook, this celebrates one of GV's own lyrics !)

Whatever became of him, I wonder, & did he write "Hey Joe"?

I'm guessing that we're talking about "Fuck music" type stuff here.

For that, I'll offer the following:

"Freak Me" (don't remember - some generic R&B act from the early 90's)
"The Lemon Song" (Led Zeppelin)
"Cherry Pie" (Warrant) - yes, it's an 80's hair band, but c'mon - you know they'd have replaced "swingin'" with "fuckin'" if it weren't for the radio play issue...

How 'bout "Everybody's Doin' It" by Commander Cody??? HAHAHAHA.... \:D \:D \:D

Yes, we are most certainly talking about "fuck music"...which most certainly differs from "love songs"
