You probably should have posted this over in the SSS forum... there's alot more folks over there and I'd bet you'd get much more response.

That makes a lot of sense, first come first serve for the first 50... I suppose there should be some oxygen starved bozos around that might fall for that.. so you're probably really just fishing for people to make circus music I presume?

All right - FALL IN! FRONT AND CENTER! Prepare to repel boarders!

With the possible exception of TAXI, all of these things I've ever seen over the years are absolute ripoffs of songwriters. BEWARE!

Why? Because the owner of the stinky finger of spam, having smeared his excrement all over the screens of the good people who frequent musicplayer, has decided to move on and not return out of fear of getting chewed out? WUSS!

OTOH, at least if this is true, you won't bother to come back, which is VERY good news indeed!

No, guys. This is legit. I responded, had my demo reviewed by a consortium of industry heavyweights, was promptly signed to WB, and now, a mere 30 hours after responding to this offer, I am rich beyond measure, famous beyond my dreams, and terribly oversexed. I thought it was SPAM too! Boy was I wrong. Do it, do it today. YOU WON'T REGRET IT! \:\) . You've always the talent--you just needed the break, AND THIS IS IT!!!!!!!!!

Just for shits and giggles, I actually went to their website and checked out their wares...

$199.95 gets you a dozen cassette :p demos with cover sheets and a list of names to send your stuff to. Of course, the list is (supposedly) "several thousand" names long - how do they expect you to get demos out to all of them with only a dozen press kits?

And they've even got their very own Ezboard - not even a gold version - so you get assaulted with popups there as well...

I noticed that I was the first non-siteop to post on the forum... \:D

This is off the path but in 97 I was in a band named "Free Beer".You would not beleive the hell we had because of our name. The liquer control board officers kept takin down our flyers. We called them to get them to stop they said "you can't give away free beer." They couldn't understand it was the band name. Pretty hilarious. We played this outdoor 4th of July festival(alcohol was not allowed, well we drank from solo cups...wink wink )anyway the place was crawling with cops hoping to catch us giveing away beer. When we took the stage I stepped to the mike and thanked the cops for promoting our little band and for their good turnout. My wife said I was lucky for not getting arrested. It was a hoot. Later, James

Oh Yeah,

I took a peek at his site and it reaked of shark bait stinch. Unfortunately, I'm sure that he has probably sucked a few innocent souls into his muddy waters; did you guys happen to notice his hit counter? 300+ thousand; he's managing to get himself some exposure and he has probably made posts on every available music related message board that doesn't charge a fee. I guess that he doesn't realize that MPN has well established music business professionals driving behind the wheels here. Many of us here are seasoned and can smell a rat; our negative input helps to defer those who are not so savvy on the procedures. If this guy is getting his info out there via the popular music sites that have a lot of hype, but not a lot of grounding; there are going to be many innocent victims to this farce. Perhaps it would not be a bad idea to go ahead and report this as a spam.

Wahoo! I can reset my website counter to what ever number I want. Whoa! DUDE! I've had a gazillion hits on my page. Look, yesterday it was only at 121 hits & today it's outasite.

Cassettes? Fit to the length of the music or the standard 60 minute???

One good thing we can all chuckle about. With his Hotmail account he's getting damned near as much spam there as he's sending out, even with their so called spam blocker. I have a couple of Hotmail accounts for junk addresses & they're loaded with spam so his will be too.

By the way, some of the biggest names in the music industry utilize hotmail accounts so don't be fooled into thinking that a hotmail account has not clout! No names mentioned, but some are world renowned and mentors in the business.
