Hi everyone. I write songs on my keyboard and would like to edit it, get a print out of the music notation via my computer and then burn a CD as well. What's a simple and cost effective software to use? I've been told of Q-base and Cakewalk and I don't know much about any of them really.
Also, Aside from my keyboard (Yamaha S80) and computer, what do I need to connect the two? (I just bought the keyboard) I'd like to make an "informed" purchase for only the basics/necessary accesories - for a good sound to get me going. Thank for your info./help.

Cubase and Cakewalk both have websites, with free Demos downloadable from their Websites. Cubase.com, Cakewalk.com. But for cost effective, try Protools free at the digidesign.com website. Also check out Magix.com, you can pick up there midistudio at best buy, for like sixty bucks, and it will do all that stuff you wanted. Also because it is a version of Logic Audio, you can use any of the Logic softsynths, and any VST plugin for that matter. The only other thing you'll need is a midi interface for your computer. you could use the joystick port, just go to your music store and buy an adapter, or you can buy a midi interface, like the midiSport from M-Audio, also at your music store.
