Dak, Have you heard The Flatlanders? It's Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock. They released an album in the 70's and have a brand new one out.Really cool stuff.By the way ,I've been listening to your stuff on your website ,I really like it.I am tracking an album(cd),Hope to be have it finished by September.I am looking forward to shareing it with ya'll.It's got the "americana" sound but we dabble in Blues and Jazz.I look forward to everyone's feedback.Catch ya later. James

I gotta get that album. I've heard cuts from it & it's way ahead of it's time. I know they did music for "The Horse Whisperer" but didn't know they put out another album. It's gotta be a keeper.
Thanks for the kind words about the music on the website. I do appreciate it. I've got a couple of more I'll be uploading soon.
Check out the band's site too if you get a chance. There's a link on the related links page. Jump to the Somebody's Son web site too. I snaked a cassette recording of my good friend Dale's band at a gig we played together. Pretty rough recording but one hell of a fine player.

Gary p. Nunn is great .Doug Sahm ,such a complete musician , the world lost a truley unique artist when we lost him.I had a chance to see him sometime around 1990 ,and left before he came on.I didn't really know who he was at the time, been kicking myself every since. There will never be another. James

That kind of music is just about enough to get me to move to Texas. Problem is, I'd just hang out in the honks listenin' & never work.
Yeah James, it was Rosie Flores. I don't know why, but I have a block against remembering her last name. She's one fine performer. Someday, maybe we'll here that good stuff on the radio instead of the crap that's out there so much.
Later gang...

I heard a super interview with him while in Nevada that really put him higher in my regard. Way too many real good musicians out there to name them all.
I listen to THE PIG when I want to hear that good music.

Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys....you know it man!!!!!!!! I love that song "they don't make Jews like Jesus anymore". He is a trip, saw him in Lufkin years ago.
