Well if you have a sound card in your computer you should have some little 8th inch holes in it that say in and out.
You should get the appropriate adapter and or chord to take a line "out" from your keyboard and run it into the "in" on your sound card(back of the computer)
Then once the puter is up and running you should go to your "soundcard mixer" and there should be some level adjustments for in's and out's. Play your keys and try'em all till you find the one that adjusts your keyboard volume.
Make sure your keyboard level is up about half way to start.
Good luck.
let us know if you can't get it working.

Here is a cheap ($15) program that will allow you to record and do some editing on the computer. I played with the demo and was pretty impressed.

I'd say get an adapter that goes midi to serial plug OR get a soundcard (relatively cheap..50 to 100 bucks) that has a midi in and out, and simply hook up midi out from keyboard to midi in on the card. This will allow you to "write" notation into your machine, and I'm sure there are tons of programs available both shareware and purchasable stuff that'll do all you want. It helps to know the rudiments of midi though otherwise you'll be frustrated to no end trying to get a "sound" out of the dern thang. My soundcard does a better piano than the Alesis behemoth that claims does a great piano, sitting in the studio. Have fun.
