Maybe a fist fight? Maybe a big verbal argument?

Maybe they ripped you off? Compromised your integrity? Damaged your reputation? Maybe you finally realized how totally full of shit they were and you just couldn't take it anymore?

Maybe you'll never speak to the person again? Maybe you worked it out and still work with them?

Enquiring minds want to know (the bloodier, the better).

Well, this wasn't bloody...but, I wrote a song awhile ago. The song was headed in one direction...well, I'll tell you...

It was a song about some small town girl who becomes famous and ignores her roots..becomes a bitch..y'know, even though her town is proud of her.

Well, the girl who sings in our group took it upon herself to first modify the chorus, which it needed, and that was cool. Then she added a couple more verses, basically in which this fictitious girl ends up crazy. Well, that's not really how I envisioned it. Bitch yes...crazy, no. Well, I mentioned to her that that really wasn't what I had in mind, and she turned into a crazy bitch. \:D Well, we did argue a bit, but the verses weren't bad, so I figured what the hey, humor her. If I still don't like 'em, it's an easy edit.

Tedster!

You little F%^&%&%^^&%!

I ALMOST bought a copy of "Airplane" on DVD this weekend, and then I thought, "No, I've SEEN that SO many times ALREADY." And now, looking at your signature, I'm KICKING myself! Dammit!! I'm gonna have to run over to Circuit City TOMORROW!

Um, oh yeah! Big fights, uh, yeah, well, like maybe this songwriting partner of yours wants you to take charge of the song and tell her to stuff her schizo verses where the sun don't shine. Maybe she'd respect you more if you'd let loose a generous helping of testosterone-influenced righteous indignation. STAND your ground! Be a MAN!

Maybe. Kind of. Who knows? "Yes, dear! Yes, I'm almost done with the computer. Okay, right away, dear!"

\:D

I wrote what i thought was a pretty simple and sweet country tune. The lead singer that was working with at the time liked it.
She asked if she could make some changes to it.
I said "sure, just run them by me before you do anything with it."
A month or so later i was invited to an outdoor concert in west vancouver where she was one of the performers.
About halfway through the set she went into this little bit about how she was going to do a song by a friend of hers and he is in the audience right over there kinda thing and i hate attention so i hated that.
Then she preceded to perform this tune that i had written with 4 chords originally, but she and the guitarist had reworked it to have about 30 chords and a melody i have never heard before and never want to hear again.
I felt aweful that she was misrepresenting me and with what i though was a peice of shit tune. I would never have allowed anyone to hear something like that had i been foolish enough to write it. God it was gross.
She has asked me several times to be involved in things with her but i never ever will work with her again, no matter how big a star she is.
Some people just don't get it.
So disrespectful.
