Hi Nicole, Welcome to you.
Can you give us an idea as to what style(s) are your favs.
Is there somewhere we can hear some of your music?
Can you tell us what sorts of projects you are working on or interested in, collaborations etc?
Just so we know where you are at a little better.
Perhaps you are a big star, but i wouldn't know as i live in the middle of nowhere.
Help us get to know you a bit if you don't mind.
It might prompt some good questions.

Welcome Nicole! You're not late, you're just fashionably late!
I do like the idea of trying to focus on the songwriting since post-production stuff is covered in the other forums. I'm just not sure you can enforce it.
On the other hand, I'd be happy with any help in any area of the craft.

I know what you mean Riffing. I was thinking that it wouldn't have to be really enforced. We all know about the huge thread on SSS. I was figuring if someone posted a song on the "Is your song really a jingle, Find out here(kidding)" thread they would come in with the understanding that this is the place that focuses on songwriting first. Therefore, criticisms/suggestions/praises/disdain would be focused on that in general. However, you know how we are on these boards. They go all over the place. So if someone adds a little production advice here and there all the better. Like you said here,

I totally agree, and I don't think many would disagree. Basically, this is the thread where the song is the focus, if you're looking for production feedback then post on Anderton's SSS thread. At the same time, any and all good intentioned help is appreciated. What do you guys think?

If it's written on guitar,piano & etc., post it the way it was written, not multitracked & processed. That should leave the production/post production things on SSS.

I like the idea because it will give writers a chance to post a "song" with out the production for criticism. You could ask for writing ctitiques here and ask for production critiques there.
I think lots of folks may be afraid to post a guitar/voice type demo on the sss thread and yet i would like to hear them.

Okay everybody,how about this idea? Instead of one humongous overloaded thread with material,flamefests, suggestions,and OT stuff all crammed together in just
36 exciting pages of total confusion,why not do what Dan Worley just did with his musical(Raw Songwriting Sessions)?
If you want people to hear and critique (sheesh!) your stuff,just start your own personal thread with only your songs on it. It would eliminate a lot of looking around and it would quickly make this forum purty durn big!
