I've had this burner for over 3 years "BUSLINK" installed into my G4/533 via FIREWIRE
Now, it doesnt come up, that's strange
the only thing I changed or rather added to my set-up was a monitor switcher box for my TWO MACs, that should'nt cause any harm --- right
just trying to narrow down why it doesnt come up. I go into TOAST 5.1 Lite, and usually I see DVD DRIVE EXTERNAL CD DRIVE
but the external doesnt come up, hmm
any ideas

Give this a try, It worked when none of my firewire drives could be found on the desktop. Unplug the computer from the wall for 5 minutes. Then restart. Sounds like Voo doo, but it worked for me.

So it turns out, all I had to do was turn the MAC on first and then turn on the external burner.
At a time, I used to have the burner on all the time. So that cleared up my problem.
I started to worry, in all my 6 years I've never ran into a problem, I knew I didnt touch any setting or anything, so whewwwwwww, now I know and knowing's half the battle ---- G.I. JOEEEEEE
sorry, had a flash back
