Snow after Easter in Tennessee. Who'd have thought it?

It's 40 degrees outside so it won't stick but it's so weird to see snow in April here in Tennessee.

Cripes,

Here I am seeing the same thing: only 5000 + miles northwest of you - we were getting spoiled by the spring thaw over the past 10 days or so...

Snow here - all morning. It's not gonna stick. But it's still snow.

It's about 75 here right now, probably going to hit the mid 80's today. :p

Sorry guys, I couldn't resist. \:D

Of course, I do live in So CA, with all of the problems and hassles associated therewith. ;\)

Enjoy the snow boys... the summer (and heat / humidity) is right around the corner...

Isn't it boring not having seasons?

When I was in Samoa, I asked them when the leaves fell off the trees. "Never." It's always warm, always green and there are two seasons: dry and wet.

I like the hot. It makes you appreciate the snow. And the winter makes you appreciate the spring.

Maybe I'm weird.

Just left the studio for a break & it was sleeting here in Atlanta. Guess it's making up for skipping our early March snow this year.

Lynn, we do have seasons, but they're paired down a bit. The extremes from season to season are less than other places. We have summer, and then we have spring and fall... not much of a winter though - unless you go up to the local mountains.

That's one of the great things about where I live. Depending on which direction you go, it's an hour's drive into Hollywood, up to the mountains, to the beach or out to the desert.

Of course, that's assuming there's no traffic. You can NEVER assume there's going to be no traffic hassles.

Nashville has problems too, you know. Like not being able to get a beer -and- a shot in a bar after 10PM. Who would want to live in those conditions?

Well, of course, noone would want to live in those sort of conditions. I hereby invite them all back down to Memphis( we rarely get snow btw) where half the bars stay open 24/7 (because the cops are paid off) and all the bars have incredible bands every night. Due to Memphis' importance as a recording hub in the 50's, 60's and 70's, we have all these amazing studio built right next door to, guess what---------
BARS THAT STAY OPEN ALL NIGHT!!!!!!

I love this friggin city.........
Beer, BBQ, rocknroll..........24-7

NashVegas, as we call it, is about the worst damn town to play in the country. Actually, Minneapolis is worst in my experiences but NashVegas is a close 2nd.
Also, funny how nobody on these audio boards ever discusses a modern Nashville/Country Music record. No raves over Toby Keith snare sounds or Shania Twain's amazing bottom end. No questions on how to achieve that amazing Brooks and Dunn guitar tone that the Brooks guy always pantomines live while a real guitar player languishes in the shadows. Can he even play the guitar? I guess it's not important because he really does look pretty damn bad-ass air-guitaring all the parts.
Jeeeeeeeez.
Memphis rules.

No raves over... ...Shania Twain's amazing bottom end.

Someone's gonna jump all over that. \:\)

I hear you - You dig Memphis. \:\) No offense to the Nasville guys, but I prefer S. CA. I was raised out here, so it's always been "home". I might feel differently if I was from somewhere else, but I'm not. But I do recognise our area has it's problems - which is true of any area.

Glad you found a city you dig. BTW, welcome to the forums.

Well, there's nothing more than a couple of fence posts between you and the Arctic Circle! I mixed an album at what's his name's place one January long ago. Every freakin' day the snow was blowing sideways!

Speaking of snow, there is a heavy snowfall warning issued by Enviroment Canada for the Edmonton area. We're expecting upto a foot of snow in the next 24 hours. So far we have 3 inches.

So much for spring. \:\)

Well...

It got a little cold here -- we were down in the low 60's last night!

I love the Florida Keys... my home for the past 20 years!

Stay warm!

C'mon over JackPine, we're pretty proud of our new digs, 4000 square feet on the west bank of the Mississippi, mile 833 or so.

Give me a call when you're coming to town and I'll give you directions.

I dunno... fire, flood, earthquake and drought seem pretty extreme to me... now, about jumping on Shania's bottom end... where do I sign up?
