Any of you guys know of a reasonable studio in NY area that fits these requirements?

1) Neve console

2) Protools with decent converters (at least 24 channels) not 888's! Apogee's, Myteks, even the newer HD's. Would like to rec straight to protools.

3) decent in house mic selection (U67s, U87s, Ribbons, KM 84s, etc)

4) ISO booths with line of sight to each other for live tracking with isolation

5) reasonable (willing to travel outside the city)

This would be for a 4 piece rock group, tracking only, with guitar and vocal overdubs. It might be a longshot finding something not too expensiv (need to save some of the budget for a decent engineer).

much thanks for any input.

Try The Shed in lower Manhattan. This place needs to be seen to be believed! I did some vocals there last Summer with Rod Stewart. It's owned by Daniel Wise and has everything you've asked for and more. The price is reasonable.

Cheers,

Guess it depends on what you consider reasonable, afterall youa re talking NYC.

If you can get a bit out of town, check out Pie Studios Out on Long Island. One of the finest Neves I've ever worked on, and the perfect layout for what you are looing for. In addition there's also an incredible collection of amps and guitars there.

Avatar Studio A. You will NOT find a better room...anywhere! Call and make them an offer, with the way the biz is lately most studios will work with a reasonable budget.

Ask for Tino 212-765-7500.

Thanks for all the suggestions! You guys have been really helpful. I've been out of the loop a couple years just getting back into independent producing.

regards,
