Not having my own TDM system, I was wondering if TDM plugins sound better than say VST, AU and other non TDM format?

They are priced higher than other formats as well. Why is that?

Thx

A part of it is going to be that they are a proprietary format, always a good way to charge max dollars for features. You'll find the same thing in SADiE.

Sound better? 48 fixed verses 32 bit float. All things being equal, I'll bet that most of us will never hear a difference.

They are really more like hardware, what you get is guarenteed number of plugs that can be run per card. On a native system it's an unknown untill you push your system.

the plugs are usually high quality or better because if they are not up to snuff Digidesign will not certify them.
