are there any USB 2.0 audio interfaces that you can recommend? i have HV3 preamps, so i would prefer something that just accepts line inputs, and i need to be able to do 8 channels at a time. thanks.

Most of what's out there is 1394 (FireWire). It's more appropriate for well-synced digital audio.

While the max rate of USB2.0 is 80mb/sec faster than Firewire, the sustained throughput of FIrewire is much higher than that of USB2.0, making it a faster and more stable format.

I still prefer the RME line, with PCMCIA (or PC, or CardBus... all basically the same thing, in that you plug a card into a slot in the side of your laptop...) for laptops, and PCI for desktops.

easy, easy installs, great software, and super support.
