So, why not a HDSP 9652?

I ~think~ the 2020 is less expensive....plus it has an analog i/o pair
Hey Guys,
Thanks for the replies.
I must admit that the 9652 is my first choice. Edmann hit the nail on the head. The VSL is cheaper. As far as I can tell, the difference between the 2 cards are the I/Os and the lack of ADAT sync.
At the studio, we have a 9652 in the main room. I am still working on our second room. We are running a D8B/HDR/Nuendo rig in both rooms. Nuendo serves pretty much as our "overflow" rig.
I am most concerned about the quality and routing capabilities with the VSL. I can only assume that this card would be much like the 9652. My goal is to have the second room a "mirror image" if the first room.
I am also curious if there is another card out there that would be a great alternate. The important features I need are 8ch ADAT I/O, WC, MIDI and the closest to 0 the latency can be...

The only reason I didn't go with the VSL 2020 is that it doesn't have GSIF drivers, at least I don't think so. It's possible that the RME drivers will work but decided to just go with the RME cards instead. Otherwise it's a very attractive piece.

Just my paradigm.... if I want "A" and I settle for "B" because "B" is cheaper, I usually end up buying "A": anyway... after all, it is what I really wanted to start with. Then I have wasted money on "B".
