I posted this in another section with no responce so I'll try here.
Have u guys tried the Yamaha 01V96. Some of the features on this unit really suite me ...talk back (oops there isn't any), HUI control, routing within my studio. Just want to know if the preamps are useable. If this desk is no good what about the A&H 14:4:2 Wizard. I have outboard pres...Avalons, Focusrite ISA, UA, Trident MTA 80B. System: Mac with PT HD2,192IO. I mix in the box I really need a routing system with usable pres....HELP

The old preamps were certainly useable... the new ones are quite nice actually. Fairly uncolored and neutral. If you have some good outboards you'll be just fine with these. And I answered you over on GM's forum.

The A&H stuff is nice sounding analog on a budget.
Let me know how you like the 01V96 once you get a chance to use it a bit.

The 01V96 is working out fine. The preamps are very usable as u said. The control surface is a real winner, took me a bit to get my head around the routing but I'm away now.
