How can I transfer a file from Cubase to Logic. Is the best way (or only way) to save it as a midi file? What information will be retained?

I use Logic 6 on Mac osx. Don't know what version of Cubase is being used.

Cheers.

export a midi file from cubase will save all the midi info.
Export every audio file sepertly starting at a known point (either start all files at bar 1, or name the file with the bar it starts in)
write down the tempo..

Thats about it.

Thanks. Will a midi file retain automation information (volume and pan)?

Midi automation (ie controll message) will probably be saved with a midi export afaik... but I'm not sure..
Its easy to test though. tell your friend to export a midi file. then import it to a new empty song as see what is savd and what is not..
