I'm looking for a big, clear but rich sound - British I suppose - on a 24 or so input 8 buss console at a price between $3000 - $5000, new or used.

I'm considering the Ghost very seriously, as it sounds like an excellent project studio console. Someone griped about the sound, but I'm sure that was in comparison with much more expensive units.

I have the Ghost, and I think it's the best of the 8 buss class, after hearing all the others. I picked a LE 24 channel model for $1500, so they can be had cheap if you look hard....

Soundtracs SoloLogic, 24x8x24 with VCA and Mute automation (that is killer accurate) for under $3000 used.

Midas Venice. Killer XL3 preamp, around $5k for 32x4.
