I used Mic Modeler today just to get a rough idea of how some mics sounded, many of which I've only heard about.
I tried it on a male vocal, and female, and my favorites were the Sony 800G, The C12a, and the AT4060. The Manley and the Brauner VM sounded good too, but the Sony and C12 were king to these ears.
In the REAL world, since these are way out of my budget, would the AT4060 or some variation of the AKG414 get me closer to this sound?
