I am awaiting a Delta Omni studio for my Windows XP system. I presently have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz soundcard that came with my puter. For now, I would like to maintain this puter as a combo PC/DAW. I would like to keep it this way for the time being. Am I looking for trouble here? Conflicts, etc? I have heard of BIOS files, IRQ'S, but that's about it. Scary new ground there. Any suggestions, other than call M-AUDIO when the shit hits the fan? (One of their techs said take the old card out) Thanks in advance! ---Lee

you don't really need to remove the old card, what you can do is set up two user profiles on the machine... one in which your original soundcard is disabled, and system sounds are turned off,for music, and one in which the delta is disabled and system sounds are available, for regular old pc stuff

Is this theory, or have you done or seen this successfully implemented before? Thanks --Lee
