Hello and all the best
I have recorded 16 track live concert.
Various pre amps connected to Crest mixer and 8 ballanced lines from mixers direct outputs sent to Pro Tools HD 1 with ball jacks to first 8 analog input channels.
As the front end for another 8 channels I have used Akai DR 16 and went out of it with ADAT optical into PRO Tools optical input.
Akai was adjusted to work at 48 khz
Pro Tools was set to EXTERNAL sync.
All 16 tracks were recorded O.K.
When played back they change speed and sound HIGHER in pitch.
What happened? Did the Akai went out of power and reset to default 44.1 if it is its default ?
This is just a guess
HOW can I get back to normal speed again.
I want to make DVD out of this since I have recorded it with camera at the mixing desk also

Do a search on George's site for "Sample Rate" in the thread title (I do not remember complete thread title) within the last 3~4 weeks. Someone just asked this and several people had fixes (including Roger).

I wish to thank You for pointing me to the answers on this problem
Is there a chance that i use Serato pitch to get the speed and pitch of my recording back to normal speed, and then make decission how to get back to 48khz
I assume that Digidesigns own pitch is of lesser quality

I myself do not know the exact percentage. I use Serato's Pitch-N-Time for other tasks and it is very high quality, I just don't know that I would want to use it when changing it other ways might be more transparent. Then again I have only done it using the "header" change Roger suggested so I can not speak from experience about the difference doing it it with Pitch-N-Time. Either way, good luck and let us know what you find.

Don't use any sample rate conversion at al.. simply keep the session clocked incorrectly.. when you're done, bounce to disk and either use my utility or resedit if you're on the Mac and change the sample rate in the file's header.

as soon as i have some results i will post back
what happened
i am afraid that serato will change pitch but will change the supstance of timbres of instruments (clarinet,sax, accordion, double bass) and they would not be the same
also that means that i am still in 44.1 is that right?
and that i have to transfer to 48 if i want to make DVD video
