Hi,

I'm thinking of buying Logic Audio Platinum for my PC. I'm trying to decide between version 4.7 and version 5.0. Even second hand, version 5.0 is quite a bit more expensive than 4.7. Could someone please tell me some differences between the two and if its worth spending the extra money on verion 5.0. Also is 5.0 the last PC version of Logic?

Thanks

Yes, 5.5 is the last version ever for a PC.
logic is an excellent program, however, if you are a dedicted PC user, never used Logic before and never plan to upgrade to a Mac, its hard to reccomend Logic.

If you're mind is set on Logic, then I would reccoment version 5. The difference between 4 and 5 is hugh. Espcially with regards to Automation, and quality of bundle effect.

For more info about logic visit the Logic dedicated forum at Sonikmatter.com

Hope that Helps

Thanks for the response. I'm gonna think about getting version 5 or 5.5.

As a LOGIC PC user I can tell you that 4.7 is a very stable version. However, V5.0 to 5.2 are buggy. 5.3 is pretty stable and the last 2 updates going to 5.5.1 were very minor additions typically surronding the Logic hardware controller.

If you buy someones 5.0, you are entitled to download all the upgrades, but, 5.5.1 is the only one posted for a PC.

Another issue, 4.7 runs well on lower powered computers, whereas 5.5.1 needs some power behind it and tends to run best under XP.
