Greetings -

has anyone heard the Allen&Heath MixWiz series consoles? Particularly the Z20S - which is designed kind as a stereo summing deal..they all have EQ bypass which is nice - and the specs look good.

looking for an inexpensive way to get analog summing for digistems - i.e trying to get a better bigger sounding mix than "in the box."

thanks and advance

Ed

I'm also using a Mix Wizard "16:2", running direct out to 16 channels. The pre's are very clean, before the summing bus. The Z20S uses the same channel strips as the "16:2". So, you should get the same response from either.

Check out my site and hear a few samples in my "Samples" section.

I also run the stereo outs back in through the AUX2 and use the master gains for volume controls. This setup really makes it nice to grab one of the input slides and push a channel gain, instead of mouse around to make a fast adjustment!

If you do it, I hope you have at least the same great luck as I have.

Interesting TinderArts -

that is not good. Can you be more specific - and - do you have something that performs better?

thanks

There's certainly better options, but they are also more expensive. How many inputs do you want to sum?

8-16 inputs or more. I could think about it like a dedicated summing module and then have a separate monitoring mixer.....API 8ch for about 1750.....Speck ?

It may be as simple as you get what you pay for...

Dangerous Music would be the next option - I guess

thanks

thanks Tinderarts

Actually I do not need the pre's - but that looks like a nice device. For anyone considering similar things - API has an 8 ch stereo summing module for about $1800

nice chipmonk

Ed, how's the search going? Email or PM me when you have the chance. There are a few things I'd like to communicate, but doing so here would be rather spammy.
