Does anyone have experience with the Fireport for the Alesis HD24?

I studied the manual and it seems that it works only with Windows PCs.

Is there also support for the Mac?

Thanks for your reply. As a Mac user I probably have to look to the Tascam MX now if Alesis only supports the Windows world.

Sorry for answering my own question, but it may be interessting for someone.

I talked to the german tech support of Alesis and was told that there will be a new software which supports the Fireport on Mac OS X.

Release will be this summer.

That semi good news i guess. I would have hoped they would have supported Mac OS 9.x first before juming to OSX.

I think it is a good decision now to develop a OS X version. Who will still work in OS9 in one year?

Of course, I donītīknow but I doubt it.

I switched to OS X on my office Mac and it is very powerful, stable and fun to work with - I didnīt regret it one second.

A soon as ProTools 6.1 is out I will go from 9.2.2 to OS X (probably Panter) - so it seems to happen this year.

My behaviour certainly is not represantiv but a lot of friends think the same way.

Hey, I just got an e-mail response today claiming Mac support for the Fireport will be available in 3 weeks...I placed an order for the HD24 and am going to get the fireport free as per their offer, so fingers crossed on the mac support!
Later,
kc

For those considering a machine purchase, the Mackie line is fully supported on both mac and PC platforms for firewire utilizing a Firedock .
