I am in the market for a condenser mic for my home studio. It will be used mainly for vocals, acoustic guitar and maybe an occasional wind instrument. I have about $500.00 to work with. Any recommendations?
Thanks,

Try the Audio Technica 4020 or 4030. I think you should be able to get one in that price range. If I were you, I would bit the bullet sell one of your kids, and spend about $1000 and get the new Shure KSM-32. I have four of them now, and I use them on everything. We just used them on Drum overheads and horns and piano on the Steely Dan show, and I've used them on vocals and acoustic guitars.
From now on, If I can't decide what to use, through up a KSM32.
