I'm looking for 2 good mic preamps, 1 to do vocals, 1 to do heavy guitar. I have a Focusrite Platnum VoiceChannel, and am trying on loan a Peavey VMP 2. However, I don't like either greatly. I am now thinking Great river and Meek British Channel. Any Ideas? TNX Gil

Try NTI mic pre or True Audio Systems "Precision 8" eight channel mic pre. The first two channels also have built-in direct box for recording guitars or keyboards.

Roger, I was hoping to get 2 channels at around a grand. I would kick more in, if it was needed, but I'm a project guy, mostly for my own work. How about the Clark-technikes (sic)? Is the NTI better, and is it a lot better? Tnx for all your help. Gil

Roger,
What are your favorite preamps and for what reasons and what instruments? Which pre's do you own?
